Saturday, November 15th will celebrate the Fall 2014 Missouri Cannabis Conference. This conference will be held at:
200 N. Fourth St.
St. Louis, Missouri
Conference organizers have an amazing lineup of speakers. This year’s speakers will include a former narcotics trainer for Maryland State Patrol, Neill Franklin, and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition Executive Director. Also attending as a speaker, Ira Glasser, former Executive Director of the ACLU and current President of the Board of Directors for the Drug Policy Alliance. The conference will also feature many local speakers as well. Expect to see members of Show-Me Cannabis’s board of directors, Executive Director of the Missouri ACLU Jeff Mittman, state Representative Brandon Ellington, and Executive Director of the Missouri Association and former Missouri state Representative, Jeanette Mott Oxford.
With a special focus on the damage created by the drug war, expect to hear many formal and informal discussions on the school-to-prison pipeline, the prison industrial complex, the disproportionate damage to our nation’s minority communities as well as concerns about the militarization of our police and how the drug war has actually poisoned race and class relations among the communities they police.
The organizers plan to release a full line up of speakers as well as an initial agenda in the next few weeks. Marijuana Connect will bring you those updates as they are made available.
